Mechanical Contracts Manager
Location: Devon (projects across the South West)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Car Allowance + Package
An established and growing M&E Contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their team in Devon. The role offers the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of public sector projects, including new hospitals, healthcare facilities, and prisons.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing mechanical packages from pre-construction through to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple mechanical contracts across live projects
- Involvement in pre-construction, including cost planning, tender reviews, value engineering, and programme development
- Overseeing procurement, subcontractor management, and site delivery
- Working closely with design teams, clients, and main contractors
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and commercial requirements
- Supporting project teams through commissioning and handover
About You
To be considered, you should have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager (or Senior Mechanical Project Manager) within an M&E contracting environment
- Strong pre-construction experience on medium to large-scale projects
- Experience delivering public sector projects (healthcare, custodial, or similar highly regulated environments preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- A full UK driving licence
