Associate Director – Building Surveying
Location: Exeter
Salary: Up to £64,000
Hours: 37 hours per week
ERS is working on behalf of a well-established property and construction consultancy to recruit an experienced Associate Director – Building Surveying for their Exeter-based professional team.
This consultancy delivers a broad range of services including architecture, surveying, engineering, and estates and asset management, supporting both public and private sector clients across the UK. As part of continued growth, they are seeking a senior-level Building Surveyor who can provide leadership, technical expertise, and strategic support to the Operations Director, contributing to the ongoing development of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inspirational leadership, management, and direction in line with organisational values
- Deliver high-quality technical and advisory guidance to clients, stakeholders, and internal technical teams
- Ensure programmes are delivered in line with client requirements
- Lead and manage a range of Building Surveying projects, including budget estimates, drawings, detailed specifications, tender documentation, and full contract administration
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Act as lead specialist, ensuring all design and project activities comply with statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong blend of commercial awareness, professional expertise, and industry knowledge, including:
- Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
- A degree (or equivalent) in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Significant experience in a similar senior or leadership role
- Strong understanding of business planning, commercial management, risk, and financial management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working with senior clients
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
